Though purists swear by the location on Ventura, decidedly more "real" and more low-frills - that location and it's sleeker Hollywood and Vine location - the original creations that this place cranks out, using seasonally fresh ingredients, along with their classic treats like the crab hand roll and crispy rice with spicy tuna make this place one of the few I refuse to miss when I hit LA.  My rule of thumb, Ventura when eating with family or friends or to keep it low-key.  Hollywood when out with the boys, or when you'd like some eye-candy with the sushi.
